Thursday 20th November 2025

What a week it's been - snowflakes, icy mornings, and the unmistakable feel of winter settling in! As we wrap up warmly and navigate the bustle of Black Friday deals, we're reminded that true value isn't found in flash sales but in generosity, justice, and care for one another. This Sunday, after the 10am service at St Mary's, we'll be hosting our Fairtrade Christmas Stall - a simple, meaningful way to shop with purpose and support communities around the world. In this season of giving, may we choose the things that warm more than our hands: compassion, fairness, and the light of Christ shared with others.

Advent Sunday

Next Sunday, 30th November, is Advent Sunday, and we'll be celebrating with our All Age Communion Service at 10.00am.

This year, our theme is 'Follow the Star', as we begin our Advent journey by lighting the first candle of Hope, reflecting on what hope means - the light that shines in the darkness as we watch and wait for God’s promises.

Fun & Faith children will join the main service at 10.00am, taking part in a special Advent activity before the sermon, and returning in time to join the church family for Communion.

Bring the whole family to start the season of Advent with joy, wonder, and hope!

A Word of Caution: Online Scams - As we head into the busy festive season, please be extra vigilant online. Scammers often try to take advantage of the season, sending messages that may look like they're from people you know or trusted organisations. Always double-check links, requests for money, or unusual messages, even if they appear to come from friends or family. A moment of caution can help protect you and your loved ones.
