Weekly Notices
Thursday 29th January 2026
This Sunday marks the final service in our Follow the Star series, titled The Journey Continues. As we reflect on the journey so far, we will explore how to recognise the light of Christ in our everyday lives and how we are called not just to follow that light, but to carry it forward.
With Thanks
We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Vision & Strategy Workshop last Saturday. Around 40 of us spent most of a day listening, praying, and thinking creatively about how God is calling us to fulfil our shared vision:
To see our Church at the heart of our community,
and our churches as a place of grace.
A place where all are welcomed and valued, young and old alike,
to experience the transforming love of Jesus.
Pictures and working notes from the day are available to see online and for those that were not able to attend (or even if you did and have thought of something else), we welcome any additional feedback as to how you would like to see our future. Send us your thoughts by Sunday 15th February.

Next Sunday we will be focussing on the ways our offerings support the mission and ministry of our church. Giving Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on how our contributions help us play our part in fulfilling our vision and support our Mission Partners.

Ash Wednesday
We are now moving towards the season of Lent starting with Ash Wednesday on February 18th. We will be holding a service of Ashing with Holy Communion making the sign of the cross using ashes which has been a practice of the Church for hundreds of years to mark the start of Lent.
Wednesday 18th February | 7:00pm | St Mary's Church
WALKING WITH JESUS IN PRAYER
Ash Wednesday will mark the first sermon in our Lent series where we are invited to Walk with Jesus in Prayer — not as a technique to master, but as a relationship we step into. Then each Sunday in Lent we will explore a different way of praying.
LENT BOOK GROUP
As part of Lent, we will also be running a four part Lent Book Group over a light breakfast. Using a book edited by the Archbishop of Canterbury, called Dancing to the Heartbeat of God, will be talking about some of the stories from across the globe which offers a confident and hopeful vision of faith lived out in everyday life.
The sessions will run on select Saturdays in February & March in the Church Centre. You can sign up to all dates or just one.
150 Years of Messiah
On Good Friday, 3rd April, we are delighted to offer a special trip from Wargrave to see 150 Years of Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall. This landmark concert marks 150 years of Good Friday performances of Handel's Messiah, performed by the Royal Choral Society.
Friday 3rd April | Noon - 8pm | Royal Albert Hall
Christmas Feedback
Do you have any feedback about our Christmas events and services? We would love to hear your views about what you loved and where we could improve.
Send us your feedback by Sunday 1st February at 5pm.
Need Prayer?
We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.
If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
