Thursday 6th August 2026

This week we meet Moses at the burning bush — standing on holy ground, wrestling with God’s call. Moses felt inadequate and uncertain, yet God’s response was simple: I will be with you. Faith often means stepping forward not because we feel ready, but because God goes with us. As we consider Moses’ story, we are invited to reflect on how God may be calling us to serve, speak, or step out in faith.

Join us for Week 6 in our Sermon Series - 'Stories of Faith' and hear how Moses is called to Faith

BLESSINGS OF OUR COMPANIONS - PET SERVICE‍ ‍

Pets have a unique way of enriching our lives, offering companionship, comfort and unconditional love. This September, St Mary's is inviting the whole community to celebrate those special relationships at a Blessing of Our Companions service.

Taking place on Saturday 19th September at 4:00pm on Mill Green, the informal outdoor gathering welcomes pets of all shapes and sizes - from dogs and cats to rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and more. Owners are invited to bring their pets for a short service of thanksgiving and blessing, recognising the joy they bring to our families and communities.

The event is about more than pets. It is also an opportunity to remember those faithful companions who are no longer with us. Visitors are warmly encouraged to bring a photograph of a much-loved pet to be included in a moment of reflection during the service.

Following the blessing, everyone is invited to stay for a bring-your-own picnic supper, with activities for families, including their pets, creating a relaxed afternoon for families, friends and neighbours to enjoy together.

WITH THANKS

ST PETER’S SUMMER MUSICAL EVENING

The team at St Peter’s would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended their Summer Musical Evening last Friday. Your support helped make it a truly enjoyable and memorable occasion. They are especially grateful to the wonderful performers, volunteers and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the evening such a success.

The concert not only celebrated the gift of music but also raised valuable funds to support the ongoing ministry of St Peter’s and the repair work needed to help reopen the church. Thank you for your generosity, encouragement and for being part of such a special evening. They look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Alpha Supper - An invitation to Supper for good food and converstaion with no commitment.- Wednesday 30th September

ALPHA SUPPER

Think of a friend, neighbour, colleague, another parent at the school gate or someone you know who might be curious about faith – and invite them to come with you to our Alpha Supper on Wednesday 30th September.

Our Alpha Supper gives you the opportunity to try before you commit to more sessions. Our first session will provide you with an introduction over a special Alpha Welcome Supper where you will be able to meet the team and learn more about the sessions to come.

Need Prayer?

We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.

If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
