Thursday 27th August 2026
As we conclude Stories of Faith, we turn to Daniel - a man whose faith remained steadfast under pressure. In a culture that challenged his convictions, Daniel stayed rooted in prayer, trust, and obedience to God. His story reminds us that faithfulness is often built in the quiet, consistent habits of devotion long before the lions appear. In a changing world, Daniel shows us what it means to stand firm.

SEASON OF CREATION
During September, we will be joining with churches across the UK and around the World to celebrate the Season of Creation. Next Sunday, in honour of this, we begin a new series, For the Beauty of the Earth.
It is an invitation to pause and take a fresh look at the world around us. From changing seasons and open countryside to the small moments of everyday life, there is so much that inspires wonder if we take the time to notice it.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be exploring what creation can teach us about beauty, hope, purpose and our place within our Sunday services, our Pet Blessing service, All Age Harvest Festival and our Climate Emergency film showing in October.
Sunday 6th September - Sunday 4th October
BUTTERFLIES NEW TERM
Butterflies is back next week!
Our friendly group for parents, carers and little ones returns for a new term on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday mornings of the month, 9:30am - 11:00am in the Church Centre.
Come along for play, friendship and a chance to meet other families – whether you’ve been before or are joining us for the first time, you’ll be very welcome.
The 2026 Annual Concert
In November, the Wargrave Annual Concert returns for what has become one of the musical highlights of the village year. And with another sell-out expected, the message is simple - BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY!
Be first in line for tickets - join us at the Church Centre on Saturday 10th October, 9:00am - 10:30am, when tickets will be available to buy in person. After Ticket Day, all remaining tickets will be available by email through our ticket office.
Saturday 10th October | 9:00am - 10:30am | Church Centre
Volunteer Cleaners Needed
We would love to welcome some new volunteers to our church cleaning team. The team works on a rota, with volunteers usually helping once a month on a Friday at 9:00am. It’s a small commitment of time, but one that makes a real difference in keeping St Mary’s clean, welcoming and ready for everyone.
If you could lend a hand – whether you’re an experienced cleaner or simply happy to help – we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please email Mark Puddy.
HARVEST FESTIVAL
A SEASON OF CREATION
As part of our ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’ series, we'll also be celebrating Harvest Festival with a special All Age Service for the whole community.
It's a chance for everyone to come together, give thanks for the abundance around us, and enjoy a joyful celebration that the whole family can take part in.
Sunday 27th September | 10:00am | St Mary’s Wargrave
ALPHA SUPPER
Think of a friend, neighbour, colleague, another parent at the school gate or someone you know who might be curious about faith – and invite them to come with you to our Alpha Supper on Wednesday 30th September.
Our Alpha Supper gives you the opportunity to try before you commit to more sessions. Our first session will provide you with an introduction over a special Alpha Welcome Supper where you will be able to meet the team and learn more about the sessions to come.
Need Prayer?
We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.
If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
