Pentecost:
Church’s Birthday
The birthday of the Church, otherwise known as Pentecost marks the moment when the followers of Jesus were filled with fresh courage, purpose, and a sense of shared mission. It's a day of energy, colour, and welcome - and a reminder that the Church was never meant to stay still. So whether you've been part of the story for years or are just curious, we invite you all to step in, join the celebration, and discover what community and faith can look like today.

Junior Church & All Age Services
From Sunday 18th May, there will be a temporary pause in organised Junior Church activities at St Mary’s.
Families attending services with children and infants are very welcome to use the activities area at the back of church, as well as the crèche. Traditionally, Junior Church has taken a break over the summer, and we plan to relaunch activities after Revd David Chislett’s arrival in late August.
Junior Church (4 years - 16 years)
Looking for a fun and engaging way for you or your child to connect with others and grow in their faith? Bring them along to Junior Church, where children under 16 gather every Sunday at 9:45 AM for a time to grown in Faith, have Fun and build Friendships.
At Junior Church, your child will:
Make New Friends – Meet other kids their age in a welcoming, friendly environment.
Have Fun – Enjoy games, activities, and creative lessons that bring faith to life.
Grow in Faith – Learn about God’s love through interactive Bible stories, songs, and discussions designed just for them.
Junior Church is designed to nurture your child’s spiritual growth while creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere. They’ll have opportunities to participate in special projects, seasonal activities like nativity plays or Easter crafts, and even contribute to church events in creative ways.
Whether they’re painting a picture of Noah’s Ark, learning a new worship song, or talking about kindness with friends, Junior Church offers a space where faith comes alive and every child feels valued.
We’d love to welcome your child this Sunday. Come and see how much fun growing in faith can be!
Crèche (0 - 3 years)
Our church crèche provides a welcoming space for children under four to play, explore, and make noise without disrupting the service. Parents can relax knowing their little ones are safe and happy, while still being able to follow the service via a live screen. Whether you choose to stay with your child or step back into the main congregation, the crèche ensures a comfortable and inclusive worship experience for families.
At Crèche, your child will:
Play and Explore – Age-appropriate toys and games to keep them engaged.
Make Friends – A chance to socialise with other little ones in a warm, caring setting.
All Age Services
St Mary’s also have special All Age Services throughout the year which are aimed at incorporating everyone into a service in church. There are often activities, guest speakers and animated songs.
Unable to join in person?
For those who are unable to attend in person, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to watch services online through the Church of England’s platform. This allows you to stay connected and participate in worship from the comfort of your own home. Whether you're traveling, unable to attend due to health reasons, or simply prefer to join remotely, you can experience services from around the nation live or at a time that suits you.
We hope this option helps you continue to engage in Christian ways of life and nurture your faith.
