This Sunday
Persecution for Faith
This Sunday, we will be recognising the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, as we join together as a parish to pray for fellow believers around the world who face persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ.
St Mary’s, Wargrave
8am - Holy Communion
9.30am - Fun & Faith
9.45am - Morning Worship - IDOP
Quiet children's activites available at the back of church
Bible Readings
8am - 2 Thessalonians 1, Luke 19: 1-10
9.45am - 2 Thessalonians 1, Luke 22: 54-62
In the afternoon, we will gather at 3pm for our Annual Parish Bereavement Service. This special service offers a gentle and reflective space to remember loved ones who have passed away, to bring our grief before God, and to find comfort in His presence. It is an opportunity for all in the Parish community to support one another, to light a candle in memory, and to be reminded of the hope and peace promised through Christ, even in times of loss.
In our Thoughts
Please remember in your thoughts the family and friends of Clare 'Wardy' Winters. A service of Thanksgiving will take place at St Mary's on Friday 7th November at 2pm.

Advent marks the beginning of the church year - a season of waiting, watching, and preparing our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus and to look forward to His coming again. It's a time filled with hope, peace, joy, and love as we journey together towards Christmas and beyond.
Join us on Advent Sunday (30th November) for our All Age service with Communion as we kick off this year's Christmas theme, 'Follow the Star'.
This first Sunday of Advent invites us to follow the Star of Hope, beginning our journey towards Christmas with anticipation, joy, and hope for all ages. Families are invited to start the service together, with children of primary school age leaving during the sermon to join Fun & Faith for Advent activities, returning later to share in Communion.
Sunday Mornings in Advent

Advent 2 – 7th December – Star of Peace

Fairtrade Christmas Stall
Once again in November, St Mary's Wargrave is running a Fairtrade Christmas stall, with chocolate Advent calendars and a selection of gifts and Christmas cards.
They will be available in St Mary's during the mornings of 16th, 23rd and 30th November, and at other times from our local Fairtrade champion Mike Buckland.
The Advent calendars always sell out, so we invite you to pre-order soon to avoid disappointment.
In other news
With Thanks - Barbara Sears would like to thank everyone for keeping her in their prayers. She is doing well and hopes to be back to church soon.
Be part of the team that brings worship to life - Our Audio-Visual (AV) Team really need more volunteers to join the team. With just a small number of people covering all our services, it's becoming difficult to manage. If you can click a mouse, follow a service, or have an interest in technology (even just a little!), we'd love to have you involved. Full training and support will be given - you don't need to be an expert! If you'd like to know more or have a chat about what's involved, please speak to Mark Puddy or the Church Office.
Ambles with Bob - Please join us on Friday 17th October meeting at 10am at the kissing gate.
Butterflies - Will be meeting on Wednesday 5th November at 9.30am in the Centre.
