Weekly Notices

Thursday 7th May 2026

As we continue through Eastertide, we give thanks for the new life and hope of this resurrection season. In a world that can feel uncertain, may we remember God's peace and show kindness, patience, and encouragement to one another. May this week bring moments of joy and grace, and help us live out the hope of Easter in our daily lives.

Office Hours - Wednesday 13th May
Please note that the office will only be open until 11am on Wednesday 13th May.

This Sunday - 10th May

This Sunday, we reflect on the period between the Resurrection of Jesus and his Ascension as we consider how the disciples would have tried to understand what had and what was happening. We journey with them as we consider what it means when Jesus tells them that he will ask the Father to send another Advocate, the Spirit of truth, to be with them forever.

Ascension Day

Ascension Day marks the moment when Jesus is lifted into heaven, reminding us that his presence is not confined to one place but continues with us in a new and powerful way. It is a day that draws our attention to hope, promise, and the call to live as witnesses in the world. We will mark this occasion with a service of Holy Communion, gathering together in prayer, thanksgiving, and fellowship as we celebrate this significant moment in the life of the Church.

Thursday 14th May  |  11:00am  |  St Mary's Church

Thy Kingdom Come

Dont' just pray it - LIVE IT!

Thy Kingdom Come is an invitation to do just that - not just to say the words, but to step into them. Each year, from Ascension to Pentecost, Christians across the world pause for eleven days with one simple purpose: to pray for others to come to know Jesus.  You're invited to choose five people, friends, family, neighbours, colleagues, and to pray for them by name. Not in a vague, distant way, but intentionally, daily, expectantly.  This year, we're also being resourced to go deeper. God With Us, written by Sarah Mullally, will be available in our churches - free for all.

WARGRAVE FESTIVAL HELP NEEDED

We're excited that Wargrave Festival is coming up in June, and our church will be hosting several events as part of the celebrations.

To make these events run smoothly, we're looking for volunteers to help with set-up, welcoming and assisting during the events, and clearing down afterwards. Even an hour or two of your time would make a real difference.  The jobs are varied.

If you're able to help in any way, please do let us know - we'd love to have you involved.

Thank you so much for your support!

Need Prayer?

We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.

If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
