Thursday 20th August 2026

Esther’s story shows us that faith sometimes calls for courage and costly obedience. Faced with great danger, Esther stepped forward at just the right moment, trusting that God had placed her there “for such a time as this.” This week we reflect on how God may be calling us to act boldly, speak wisely, or stand faithfully in moments that matter. Faith often involves risk - but never without purpose.

Together we’ll discover the amazing story of Daniel – a story full of courage, adventure and faith. With music, activities and plenty of opportunities for children to get involved, it’s a chance for the whole family to enjoy church together and discover how Daniel’s story might inspire our own.

Come along, join in and enjoy the morning with us.

Volunteer Cleaners Needed

We would love to welcome some new volunteers to our church cleaning team. The team works on a rota, with volunteers usually helping once a month on a Friday at 9:00am. It’s a small commitment of time, but one that makes a real difference in keeping St Mary’s clean, welcoming and ready for everyone.

If you could lend a hand – whether you’re an experienced cleaner or simply happy to help – we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please email Mark Puddy.

ALPHA SUPPER

Think of a friend, neighbour, colleague, another parent at the school gate or someone you know who might be curious about faith – and invite them to come with you to our Alpha Supper on Wednesday 30th September.

Our Alpha Supper gives you the opportunity to try before you commit to more sessions. Our first session will provide you with an introduction over a special Alpha Welcome Supper where you will be able to meet the team and learn more about the sessions to come.

Need Prayer?

We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.

If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
