Weekly Notices

Thursday 28th May 2026

As we continue our sermon series on Grace, this week we reflect on Embracing Grace - the truth that a Place of Grace is where people are welcomed before they are worthy. Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus meeting people with compassion, invitation, and love long before their lives were transformed. Our prayer is that our churches would reflect that same generous welcome, becoming communities where all people can encounter the grace of God and find a place to belong.

Embracing Grace
A Place of Grace is where people are welcomed before they are worthy
Enabling Grace
A Place of Grace is where people are being changed by God
Expressing Grace
A Place of Grace is where grace is felt in relationships
Extending Grace
A Place of Grace becomes a source of grace for the community

ST PETER’S SPIRE APPEAL

Many of you will already be aware that St Peter's Church is currently closed following concerns about the condition of the church spire. While this has understandably been disappointing for our congregation and the wider community, the safety of everyone who uses the building must remain our priority.

We are currently exploring a number of options for carrying out a full inspection of the spire and establishing what work may be needed to secure the future of the church building. We continue to work closely with the relevant organisations and are hopeful that progress can be made as quickly as possible.

Our fundraising efforts are now underway, and we are excited to begin what we hope will be a real community-wide effort to support St Peter's. Our first event will be a Folk Evening at Knowl Hill Village Hall on Saturday 6th June, and we would love to see as many people there as possible.

We are extremely grateful for the kindness, encouragement and support already shown by so many people within the community.

WARGRAVE FESTIVAL HELP NEEDED

We're excited that Wargrave Festival is coming up in June, and our church will be hosting several events as part of the celebrations.

To make these events run smoothly, we're looking for volunteers to help with set-up, welcoming and assisting during the events, and clearing down afterwards. Even an hour or two of your time would make a real difference.  The jobs are varied.

If you're able to help in any way, please do let us know - we'd love to have you involved.

Thank you so much for your support!

ALPHA - COMING SOON

We are pleased to be running Alpha weekly from 30th September to 2nd December. Alpha is a series of relaxed and open conversations where people can explore the Christian faith, ask questions, and share their thoughts in a welcoming and informal setting. Each session includes time to connect, watch a short talk, and discuss together, with no pressure and no prior knowledge needed. Everyone is welcome, whether you are exploring faith for the first time or simply curious to find out more.

Starting September 2026

Need Prayer?

We see prayer as essential and a privilege and we want to be able to pray for anyone that may need prayer. There is no judgement on how big or small the prayer request is and as followers of Christ, we are free to come to him and have confidence that Jesus hears and welcomes our prayers.

If you or someone you know needs prayer, send us your prayer. The request will be sent to a group of prayerful people who will pray for you or the person in need. As a group they will only know the information you ask to be forwarded to them, and they will hold this request in confidence. The request will only be shared with the small group of people in the prayer group.
