at St Mary’s Church
Fun & Faith welcomes all primary school-aged children to join us during Sunday morning services for an exciting mix of games, crafts, storytelling, and faith-building fun.
Fun & Faith is a space where children can grow in fellowship and their faith while enjoying activities tailored just for them. Our dedicated team of volunteers work hard behind the scenes to create an engaging and welcoming environment where young hearts and minds can explore Bible stories in a hands-on, age-appropriate way.
Each session includes crafts to spark imagination, and inspiring stories from the Bible to help children discover how much God loves them. Whether it's watching videos, singing songs, creating artwork or acting out the parables of Jesus, every week will bring something new.
But Fun & Faith is more than just a time-filler during the sermon - it’s a place where children can begin to understand and own their faith, ask big questions, and make lasting friendships within the church family. We want every child to feel known, valued, and loved — just as they are.
When & Where?
Parents and carers can drop their children off at the church centre before the service at 9.45am. The session ends at 11.00am when the children will be given a drink and a biscuit whilst waiting to be picked up. Occasionally the children will go into the service to show what they have done but will still be finished by 11.00am. Parents collecting their children are welcome to stay for coffee and chat.
On the last Sunday of the Month, we have our All Age Communion service, where families are invited to the 10.00am service in the church. Children will depart for Fun & Faith during the semon - returning for Communion.
Prefer to stay in church
Families attending services with children and infants are very welcome to attend Fun & Faith (primary school ages), however, if you (or they) would prefer to stay with you in church the use of our Quiet Children’s Activity Area at the back of church, as well as the crèche are available.
COME & BEE BUZZY
During Half Term on Thursday 28th May, we are delighted to host a FREE Family Activity Morning at St Mary's, celebrating and supporting the smaller creatures that share our church grounds and gardens. All are warmly welcome to come along and enjoy a creative, hands-on morning full of discovery, imagination, and fun for all ages.
There will be a Bug Hunt Orienteering adventure to explore the outdoors, alongside a fascinating Bug Display to get up close with some of our tiniest neighbours. Families can get creative with Lego Bugs, design beautiful Suncatchers to paint, and craft Honeycomb Tea Lights and colourful Bead Bracelets to take home. We'll also be making wildflower wreaths, planting bee-friendly flowers in pots, and sharing together in story and conversation.
To top it all off, we'll be serving some delicious snail cinnamon buns to enjoy as part of our time together - a sweet reminder of the joy found in caring for creation and sharing community.
