We hope you had a joyful and peaceful Easter, filled with hope and renewal.
As we move into this new season, the story of resurrection continues to shape our life together – a reminder that with Christ, each day brings new possibilities and fresh grace.
This week, as our church life picks up again after the Easter celebrations, we're delighted to say that Marina Brain will be leading our Sunday service at St Mary's. We look forward to welcoming her once again and sharing in worship together.
This is the final week to submit your Electoral Roll application
If you consider St Mary's, St Peter's or St Paul's your church, we would love for you to be on the Roll. It's a key way of showing your belonging – and it ensures you can vote at the APCM and help shape the future of our parish.
Please complete your form by Wednesday 30th April.
Thank you for being part of all that God is doing here.

Message from Steve
Last Sunday in church, I was totally surprised and deeply touched by the card and very generous gift I received from you. The kind messages in the card were incredibly humbling and encouraging. I would like to say a huge 'thank you' to the whole parish community for the way you have supported and encouraged me, not just since John retired, but throughout my Christian life. When Lesley and I came to St Mary's in the late 1990s, and later St Peter's and St Paul's, we were welcomed by an amazingly warm church family. Over the years, our faith has grown and our lives have been enriched by so many wonderful Christians. As a former lay member of the church family, and as an ordained minister since 2017, it has been an absolute privilege to serve you in any way I can, and I look forward to serving you alongside our new vicar in the years to come. God bless you all.
St Mary's will be hosting a thoughtful and reflective morning, where you can explore how you would like your farewell to be shaped. Join us as we listen to hymns, music, and readings, and learn about the different types of funeral services available. Click the image to RSVP.
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is a chance for everyone in the Parish to hear about the life of the church over the past year, review finances, and elect representatives to the PCC. It’s an important moment to reflect, give thanks, and look ahead together. Join us on Sunday 18th May after the 9.45am short service.
Ascension Day celebrates the risen Christ returning to his Father in heaven, 40 days after Easter. It’s a significant moment in the Church calendar, reminding us of Jesus’ promise to be with us always and the hope we have in him. To mark this special day, all are warmly invited to a Holy Communion service at St Mary’s on Thursday 29th May at 11am. Join us as we reflect, give thanks, and worship together.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension Day and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus. It’s a time of united and heartfelt prayer, both individually and as a church community. Whether through quiet reflection, daily devotions, or gathering with others, everyone is encouraged to take part in whatever way they can. Together, we pray: “Come, Holy Spirit.”
On Saturday 28th June, a special trip is being arranged for music lovers to enjoy an afternoon of tea, sandwiches and cakes at St Mary's Church Centre at 4.30pm before departing for the Anvil, Basingstoke to hear Brahms': 'A German Requiem' with the Royal Choral Society and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Email Annette to reserve your space - click the image.
VE Day Service
Join us at St Mary's as we come together to commemorate VE Day with a special service of remembrance and gratitude, in collaboration with the Royal British Legion. This is a time to honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom and to reflect on the lasting peace their efforts secured. Whether you have a personal connection to this historic day or simply wish to pay your respects, all are welcome to share in prayer, reflection, and community. We look forward to welcoming you.
