RIDE+STRIDE 2025

Ride + Stride is the single largest source of income for many Historic Churches Trusts enabling them to make Grants to places of Christian worship. It is a wonderful way to enjoy getting out and about safely as well as raising much-needed funds.

SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER

Ride+Stride is a nationwide church-crawl where you can visit as many (or as few) churches as you like on Saturday 13th September between 10am and 6pm. Tradionally, you can walk, run, cycle, ride or drive, following your own route and enjoy visiting some of our county’s fabulous churches.

Our church team has participated in Ride+Stride for many years, and, thanks to your sponsorship has raised thousands of pounds to support Berkshire Historic Churches Trust and our own Parish churches.

For 2025, we are hoping to field three teams:

Cycling
Walking (Easier Route)
Walking (Challenging Route)

The cycling will be around 11 miles lead by Katie Cosnett.  The easier walking route will be a team visiting churches in central Reading led by Christine Walker.  The third and more challenging route, led by Ruth Howse will be a countryside walk down the Lambourn Valley.

All will visit as many churches as possible between 10am - 6pm on the day but we need more participants to make this feasible. If you are interested in joining us either on foot or on your bike please complete the online form so that routes can be planned.

Donating to

Berkshire Historic Churches & the Parish of Wargrave with Knowl Hill

Ride+Stride is the major annual fundraiser for the Berkshire Historic Churches Trust and all support continues to be much valued as churches face difficult financial circumstances. The money raised helps to save historic churches, chapels and meeting houses for future generations by helping to fund urgent repairs and the installation of modern facilities. In 2024, individuals from within Berkshire (and beyond) helped raised almost £28,000 which churches can apply for grants to help with the upkeep.
