CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Helping the youth grown in FAITH, have FUN, and build FRIENDSHIPS

Fun & Faith

(4 years - 16 years)

at St Mary’s Church

We’re thrilled to announce the relaunch of our much-loved Sunday Club, now with a brand-new name and fresh energy — Fun & Faith! Beginning this term, we’re welcoming all primary school-aged children to join us during Sunday morning services for an exciting mix of games, crafts, storytelling, and faith-building fun.

The new name says it all — Fun & Faith is a space where children can grow in fellowship and their faith while enjoying activities tailored just for them. Our dedicated team of volunteers has been working hard behind the scenes to create an engaging and welcoming environment where young hearts and minds can explore Bible stories in a hands-on, age-appropriate way.

Each session will include crafts to spark imagination, and inspiring stories from the Bible to help children discover how much God loves them. Whether it's watching videos, singing songs, creating artwork or acting out the parables of Jesus, every week will bring something new.

But Fun & Faith is more than just a time-filler during the sermon - it’s a place where children can begin to understand and own their faith, ask big questions, and make lasting friendships within the church family. We want every child to feel known, valued, and loved — just as they are.

When & Where?

Parents and carers can drop their children off at the church centre before the service at 9.30am. The session ends at 10.45am when the children will be given a drink and a biscuit whilst waiting to be picked up. Occasionally the children will go into the service to show what they have done but will still be finished by 10.45. Parents collecting their children are welcome to stay for coffee and chat.

Our first session will be on Sunday 14th September, and we’d love for your child - or grandchildren - to come along and give it a try. You can sign-up when you arrive if you have not already done so and give us details of emergency contacts, allergies etc... New faces are always warmly welcomed.

Prefer to stay in church

Families attending services with children and infants are very welcome to attend Fun & Faith (primary school ages), however, if you (or they) would prefer to stay with you in church the use of our Quiet Children’s Activity Area at the back of church, as well as the crèche are available.

Fun & Faith Volunteer

We’re looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals to help run our new Sunday children’s group, Fun & Faith. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of primary school-aged children, providing them with a safe, fun, and inspiring space to explore their faith.

As part of the team, you could be helping with a wide range of activities — from storytelling and leading craft projects to organising games, supporting small group discussions, or simply being a friendly, encouraging presence. You don’t need to be a trained teacher or have all the answers; what matters most is a willingness to be involved, to share your time, energy, and joy with children as they learn, explore, and grow.

Even a small commitment can have a big impact. Whether you can join regularly or just occasionally, your help is vital in bringing Fun & Faith to life and making our Sunday mornings a highlight for children and families alike.
