Annual Parochial

Church Meeting

What happens in a year?

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) is an important yearly gathering for parish members to review the past year's activities, finances, and future plans of the church. During the APCM, reports are presented on church finances, property, worship, and mission work, as well as updates from various church groups and ministries. Elections are also held for key roles, including Parochial Church Council (PCC) members, churchwardens, and representatives for the Deanery Synod. The APCM is a chance for parishioners to engage in the church's direction, celebrate achievements, discuss challenges, and help shape plans for the coming year. All church members are encouraged to attend, participate, and support the mission of the church.

The next APCM is due to take place on Sunday 19th April 2026

A Short Review for 2025

The 2025 Parish Report highlights a year of transition and resilience, marked by the successful appointment of Reverend David Chislett as Vicar and the church’s continued focus on being a ‘Place of Grace.’ The PCC remained active in governance, worship planning, and compliance, while ministry across all areas - from children and youth work to community engagement and worship - continued to grow, with strong attendance at major services and thriving house groups. Despite these positives, the Parish faced financial challenges, ending the year with a deficit and anticipating further pressure in 2026, alongside some membership changes and building maintenance issues. Safeguarding remained a priority, and strong links with local schools and the wider community were maintained. Overall, the report reflects a committed and active Parish navigating change while sustaining vibrant worship and outreach.
