As we find ourselves in vacancy here at Wargrave with Knowl Hill, there is much work happening behind the scenes in preparation for the appointment of a new vicar.  Part of the interregnum is preparing the Parish Profile and the Churchwardens, who have been working diligently on this, are holding an open meeting on Saturday 3rd August to hear from the wider congregation.  They encourage and invite you to come along and, 'Have your say...'

Provisioning for the future

We are in the process of writing the Parish Profile and we are keen as a church to work together to identify what our priorities are for our church and the people God has placed us amongst. 

We want to provide an opportunity to think about our vision for the future, the job of our next leader and what sort of person we feel might be called to this role. 

To this end we are providing the opportunity to spend time listening to God, to each other, and most importantly praying, in order to help us discern our vision and what might be needed from the next vicar on Saturday 3rd August from 9.30am - 12.30pm.  There will also be a light lunch to follow.

Some questions to be thinking about before the day: 

• What is valued about our church?
• What is done well? 
  
• What is good/of God?
• Where have we noticed God at work in and around our church?

As we are catering for this event we do need to have an idea of numbers so please RSVP to or by Monday 29th July.

Postcards from Paul

Unfortunately Paul’s voyage to Rome was delayed for a couple of weeks - bad weather in the Mediterranean - but we’re hopeful that we’ll get some better news and a couple of postcards this Sunday at Junior Church. It would be great to hear that he’d finally made it to Rome to appear before Caesar. But we know sea voyages can be very unpredictable….

Sunday 28th July

Our next ramble will take place on Sunday 28th July when we shall return to Holyport for an easy walk though tranquil countryside ranging from lush meadows to trim polo grounds. 

Meeting at 12.30pm at the war memorial on Holyport Green (SL6 2JT) and after for lunch at The George at 3pm.

The Wargrave Podcast

Starting in September, we will be launching a weekly podcast with short episodes reading the gospel of Mark — the shortest biography of Jesus. 

New material, fresh language and a Latin accent (you guessed it, Jubi will be your host), just something that people can hold on to while family life is hectic.

Thursdays at 2.30pm

Every third Thursday of the month at 2.30pm, CAMEO meet in the Knowl Hill Village Hall to host various activities allowing you to have some fun and to take the time to meet and chat with others over tea & coffee.
