Church at the Heart of the Community
Welcome to the Parish of Wargrave with Knowl Hill
Exploring the Meaning
This Sunday, 19th October, we look at Part II of our Holy Communion series as we focus on the rich and timeless practice.
Together, we will explore its origins in the early church and reflect on its dual nature - both an act of remembrance and a living sacrament, echoing St Augustine's words: "an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace."
Join us for this journey of reflection and discovery.

On Sunday 26th October, our All Age Holy Communion Service will celebrate the Saints - our faithful heroes from the Bible. Together, we'll explore how the courage and faith of these biblical heroes can inspire us all today, making this a service for the whole family to enjoy and reflect upon. Children of primary school age can join Fun & Faith during the service, for stories and activities that bring these inspiring lives to life.
Each year we gather for a special service to remember those we have loved and lost. During the service, we will read aloud the names of loved ones, a simple but profound act of remembrance, and light a candle. If you would like the name(s) of someone special to be included in this year's dedications, please click the image to discover more...
Remembrance Sunday is a day of national reflection, held on the Sunday nearest to Armistice Day to honour all those who have given their lives in service to their country. It is a time to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the two World Wars and in conflicts since, as well as those who continue to serve today. Across the Parish, we will gather for services of remembrance.
