Finance during Covid-19
The finances of the church, as you can expect, are suffering at the moment with little or no Sunday Service giving and no room rentals, whilst costs remain much the same if not higher in some areas.
Many people give on a regular basis by standing order etc... in which case, thank you, that is vital to finances. However, if you do not, or you want to provide a top up, please click the following button to give a one off donation via CAF Donate:
Regular and realistic giving by everyone, as a team, is essential. Our principal source of money to finance the ministry in the parish is the support provided by the individuals who worship at St Mary's, St Peter's and St Paul's.
Our costs in 2019 are incurred through:
- We launched a fresh Stewardship Campaign at the beginning of May 2017. Andrew Imlay was responsible for the campaign, and St. Mary's PCC members supported this generously. The aim was to increase the level of regular giving by £30,000 per annum (plus Gift Aid tax recovery). We now need the remainder of the congregation to step up! Every extra £10 per month will make a difference.
- Do you think and pray carefully and realistically about your giving to the church?
- If you don't do so already, are you able to give by a regular monthly payment through your bank? If you do give regularly, have you considered increasing the amount in line with inflation and our costs?
If you are a visitor or an occasional attender and a taxpayer, by placing your donation in a yellow Gift Aid envelope and completing the details, we will be able to claim an additional 25p from the Government for every £1 you give.
If you are a regular attender and would like to join our Church Giving scheme, please contact Richard Lloyd on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0118 940 2157.
- Below you will find a link to a document entitled "The Grace of Giving" which was published in the October 2019 Parish Magazine, outlining the biblical principiles of giving.
